Is there any cure for insomnia and/or delayed sleep phase syndrome. I have been on 7 different perscription meds this year and
I only get sleepy around 2:00 p.m. (while at work). During this time I get sleepy at work, I have to eat or pinch myselft to try to stay awake. If I could only go to sleep then, it would only take me 30 seconds to fall asleep. I get in the bed around 9:00 riight after I take a sleeping pill and I am still awake for hours. Usually I fall asleep between 2:00 & 4:00 a.m. I have to get up at 6:30 to be at work at 8:00. I am so tired and frustrated with not being able to go to sleep. While it only takes about 5 minutes for my husband and three children to fall asleep. I can be dead tired, but still not be able to go to sleep. The only time I get any sleep is Sat. & Sun. mornings. Does anyone know anything that can help me? All seven of the perscription sleeping pills my doctor gave to me seemed to work the first week and then they would quit. Everyone seems to think they can tell me just to lay down and you will fall asleep. They have no idea how miserable this situation is. Not getting enough sleep makes me grouchy the next day and very sluggish; although, I seem to manage to do my work plus after work cook, clean, do laudry, bathe kids, help kids with their homework, and feed the pets (you would think after a days work and performing all of the above chores, it would be easy to go to sleep, but it is no). The past 48 hours, I have only had about 6 hours of sleep. I just literally want to cry.
